Around the World and Frozen Pizzas
The Finn's are going around the world! We leave with Semester at Sea on January 12th and will return on May 6th. I will be writing about this amazing opportunity in the writings to come and will definitely be blogging as we sail around the world. I will be offering and coordinating spiritual development opportunities for the ship community and my husband Andy will be co-coordinating opportunities for the younger ones on the ship. Our kids are, of course, coming along with us and we are excited and very grateful. And amazed! We have so much to learn from our brothers and sisters across the seas. And we most definitely have a thing or two to learn from them about being in our bodies, especially that singing, dancing and telling stories can heal us and our communities.
So, I was sitting in our kind-of-dirty hot tub tonight with my daughter. And I asked her, "What are you most excited about when you think about our time with Semester at Sea?" Lizzie responded, "The bar." Surprised, I asked, "What is the bar?" And she said, "The place where we can get snacks anytime we want." Going around the world and my child is thinking about frozen pizzas. I love kids. They are just so simply, and profoundly, in the moment.
