The Call of Beauty
"When we awaken to the call of beauty, we become aware of new ways of being in the world. We were created to be creators. At its deepest heart, creativity is meant to serve and evoke beauty. When this desire and capacity come alive, new wells spring up in parched ground; difficulty becomes invitation, and rather than striving against the grain of our nature, we fall into rhythm with it's deepest urgency and passion. The time is now ripe for beauty to surprise and liberate us." John O'Donohue, from Beauty, The Invisible Embrace
Beauty is solid. And she is fleeting sometimes. To catch a glimpse of her, one needs a widened heart. Beauty in the ordinary is seen, when we expand our definition of beauty. In the morning I wake up, put my feet on the ground and spread my toes wide, and say thank you. Thank you for opening my eyes this morning and giving me another moment on this moving planet. I breathe and fill with something more than me. It is simple really. Just asking Love to open our eyes. And when we do, even the most mundane, appears to beautiful.
Just look out your window. Look up above you. Every moment is new. And there is beauty in every moment. Even if we can't see, hear, taste, smell or touch it. It is there.

I turned my head in a little restaurant in Fort Cochin, on a hot night with gekkos on the wall, and saw this..after a long day...

And of course, the readily accessible beauty of new friends...
