Rise Podcast #3: Facing the Darkness with Breath

When anyone, a yoga teacher or movement educator, asks me to focus on my breath I almost feel a sense of panic. I can't really describe it, but it has been almost like I did not believe there would be enough breath to sustain me. As a child who grew up with severe asthma (that is now almost completely gone) "not enough" was how I lived many of my days. And I lived this understanding of "not enoughness" on the foundational level of my very breath. We make God and soul so complicated. But it is just as simple as the breath.

This episode of Rise focuses on the breath as soul and as the great Sustainer. Listen to a story of a woman who breathes in her darkness and breaths love back out onto the world through the Macheke Sustainability Project; a project dedicated to serving the people of Macheke, Zimbabwe and to redefining what poverty means.
