Hopeful...

I am hopeful...

...when I witness two ten-year old girls walking down the sidewalk on the way to school holding hands

...seeing people pull their cars over for a rushing ambulance

...when cars stop behind a school bus letting children off at the bus stop

...when a 3rd grade teacher can see that the first days of school are hard for my child and I and she comes over and hugs me

...when my son builds his own fishing rod

...when I have the guts to say I am sorry

...when I hear how much the church cares about its youth and yet doesn't know how best to serve them

...when I make up a recipe and it tastes good

...when I hear a good poem

...when I see a sunflower literally turning to face the sun

...when I look in my dog's eyes

...when I feel my cat's fur on my face

...when my husband laughs

...when my children get dirty

...when I get down on my knees

...when my daughter paints her nails all different colors on the back porch

How about you?

My almost 10 yr. old grandson Andrew, calls me and talks with me for over an hour about the family tree he is doing for school and asks questions about his ancestors. He will remember.....
